Head Company SEG -- Designed by Zaha Hadid. Head Company SEG, Opening on Feb. 1st 2006 The building was planned by the star architect “Zaha Hadid”. The body of the building is made out of three parts which are located on top of the historically protected “Otto Wagner Stadtbahnbögen”. The “Stadtbahnbögen” work as stilts for the new construction which is located near the Danube channel. The concept for the flats in this building is to rent them for a fixed period of time that should not exceed 24 months. Additionally to the classic single flats there will be also the opportunity to rent so called FS* Flats with two to three single rooms. These partly furnished units should mainly be of interest to customers from the neighbouring economics university. If the building is fully occupied, there will be around 60 occupant sharing the 29 living units of the house. Additionally there are a club, a bar and a restaurant located in the first floor of the building. The building which had cost of around 10 million Euros is based on a study which was done by Zaha Hadid in 1994. During the planning procedure the whole building was altered several times. For example the number of the building supporters was heightened, and the planners also decided that they did not want to cover the front of the building with a thin sheet of metal.
